Capo Vaticano offers one of best views of the coasts thanks to its good geogrphic location. It's located in Ricadi territory's municipality and icludes beaches of rare beauty. This panorama sequentially starts from Riaci's Bay until St. Maria's one, going on to Formicoli's, Tono's, Torre Ruffa's, Capo Vaticano Torre Marino's, Praia di Fuoco's ones so every offers natural and pure landscapes.  It's located on Poro's rocky promontory facing on the horizon Eolie Islands. According to the legend, the name of Capo Vaticano derives from a particular position of a cave abided by "Manteco" an oracle wich marines refer to before taking the sea. IThe sea is one of the most brilliant and transparent ever seen: little bays, rocks above the sea, caves and ravines form an awesome landscape are melting with historic memories and archeological remains evoking the mighty charm from the past. The mild climate throughout the year, its pure nature, rich coves increase the value of place. The most suggestive among the beaches is the Grotticelle's one and the  landscape around it, its beauty affascinates also Giuseppe Bertoa famous writer who decided to live there for a part of the year. In his manor every year is celebrated a literary award entitled to Giuseppe Berto wich propose the entire work of this author much loved by the people but overlooked by the critics. |
